Edgar Online and Universal Business Matrix have teamed up to develop a global XBRL data exchange and repository for company-financial information. The Edgar Analyst venture will offer tagged XBRL statements from annual and quarterly financial reports on U.S. public companies. In the future, tools will also be created to help companies convert data for submission into the repository or to regulatory agencies.

SunGard Availability Services has launched its SunGard Global Network, a data- transmission network for information availability. The network consists of over 25,000 miles of leased optical backbone across North America and Europe with over 48 points of presence for subscribers to connect through. The SunGard Global Network enables connectivity from different protocols and connection points as an "any to any" networking model. The fault-tolerant, multi-layered network supports TDM, IP and ATM/Frame Relay network services. The V*Net feature enables customers to access all SunGard solutions and services through a single connection.

Banco Bilbao Vizcaya and Argentaria, a Spanish-based international financial-services group has selected Asset Control for its integration infrastructure for management of investment pricing and reference data. Replacing a number of decentralized databases, the Asset Control system will provide a central data repository for the enterprise. The initial deployment will support BBVA's enterprise- risk-management group, with the first phase scheduled for completion this month. The rollout will then extend to European and Latin American areas.
