SimCorp Integrates XpressInstruments to Reduce Risk

SimCorp incorporated XpressInstruments into its investment management system, saying users will benefit from reduced operational risk.

SimCorp has added XpressInstruments, a model aimed at reducing operation risk, to its investment management system, SimCorp Dimension. XpressInstruments cuts the time it takes to introduce structured products and exotic instruments into the SimCorp Dimension system and supports the instruments throughout the system's seamless environment, including middle- and back-office processes, the Copenhagen-based vendor claims.

"The growth of structured products and exotic derivatives in terms of usage, size and complexity has allowed our clients to tailor these instruments to meet specific investment objectives," said David Kubersky, president, SimCorp USA, in a release. "While this allows for new investment opportunities, it also poses new operational challenges and risks."

Using SimCorp Dimension with XpressInstruments allows structured products and exotic instruments to be handled and managed in the system in the same way as standard exchange-traded and OTC products, according to SimCorp.
