* Kamakura names Jaqueline Outram managing director in charge of client relationships and operations in Australia and the Asian Pacific region. * SunGard combines Comdisco's Availability Solutions assets with its Business Continuity and Internet Services group to form SunGard Availability Services group. * Tamesis appoints Les Gosling sales director.

Kamakura has named Jaqueline Outram managing director in charge of client relationships and operations in Australia and the Asian Pacific region. Outram will also join the Kamakura Corporation Managing Committee. She joined Kamakura in October of 2001 and was previously a risk management and financial-strategy consultant. As a consultant, Outram has led projects establishing value-based performance-measurement frameworks and risk-adjusted capital-allocation methodologies and has trained Australian bankers in the application of these techniques. She has also served as global-senior manager for shareholder value at ANZ Bank in Melbourne.

SunGard has combined the acquired business of Comdisco's Availability Solutions assets with its Business Continuity and Internet Services group to form the newly named SunGard Availability Services group. The group provides clients with planning, disaster recovery, business continuity, high availability, managed hosting and IT-outsourcing services to ensure the availability of mission-critical assets. Jim Simmons will serve as CEO of the SunGard Availability Services group.

Tamesis, a provider of risk management and trading solutions has appointed Les Gosling sales director where he will be responsible for business development as well as strategies for increasing current and prospective sales opportunities. Gosling was previously with Century 24 Solutions and has served as sales director for Europe and Asia Pacific at Wall Street Systems.

The Global Association of Risk Professionals is hosting its third annual Risk Management Convention and Exhibition and will give its Financial Risk Manager of the Year awards. The GARP 2002 event will take place February 11-14 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. The first day of the conference will feature workshops entitled, "Designing and implementing an internal rating system that meets Basel II requirements," and "Practical approaches to improved market risk measurement and management." The following two-day conference program includes separate streams for different risk areas, such as market risk, credit risk, operational risk and energy risk. The conference will close on the 14th with additional focused workshops for risk professionals. The award for Financial Risk Manager of the Year in 2001 will be presented at a ceremony on February 12. For more information go to GARP's website at www.garp.com.
