IMF: As If It Didn't Have Enough To Worry About, Now Suffers Huge Hack Attack
As if it didn't have enough to worry about -- with the Dominique Strauss Kahn scandal and its new leadership still up in the air -- the International Monetary Fund is now investigating an attack on its computer system, which could have yielded a huge amount of private economic data used by the world's largest financial organization.
Hackers apparently planted software inside the IMF system. Security experts say a nation state is most likely to be behind the cyber attack, although proving which country was involved would be difficult, according to this Marketplace report.
