State Street Buys Slice of FX Options Platform Digital Vega

State Street, one of the world's largest institutional investors, announced it bought a minority stake in the FX options trading platform Digital Vega.

State Street, one of the world's largest institutional investors, announced it bought a minority stake in the FX options trading platform Digital Vega. Under the terms of the deal, State Street said it will be able to add functionality from Digital Vega's platform to its Currenex FX system.

Meanwhile the arrangement is another victory for Digital Vega, which added Deutsche Boerse as a minority owner earlier this year.

"From the outset of the Digital Vega project, we knew that in order to compete on the global stage, we would need strategic partners, and with this investment the final piece of that plan is in place," Digital Vega Chief Executive Mark Suter said in a statement.
