Neuberger Berman Picks Switch and Data Site
Neuberger Berman, the global asset management firm, has chosen to house its critical operations infrastructure at a Switch and Data site in the northeastern United States.
Neuberger Berman, an independent investment advisory firm serving individuals and institutions, selected Switch and Data’s site after an extensive diligence process, according to the vendor’s release. Switch and Data, based in Tampa, Florida, opened a new data center in North Bergen, New Jersey, about a year ago.
Key factors in Neuberger Berman’s decision were Switch and Data’s site location, strong security, infrastructure, which includes N+1 power and cooling redundancy, as well as the ability to access its existing network providers through the site. The site also provides ample space and power availability for Neuberger Berman to scale its operations to meet future requirements, according to the release. The money management firm will use Switch and Data’s 24x7 TechSmart remote technical support service to enable quick site turn-up and provide post-deployment infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting.
“Reliable infrastructure is mission-critical for a financial services company and this deployment is a crucial element of our operations,” stated Paul Metzger, managing director, Neuberger Berman in the release. “Switch and Data is part of our Multi-Data Center highly available infrastructure. By selecting Switch and Data, we gain access to a modern, advanced site with the security, connectivity and reliability needed to protect our systems today, as well as the space and power availability to scale for the future,” further stated Metzger in the release.
Financial services firms have rigorous technical and reliability requirments for their data center facilities, including connectivity to personnel, clients and capital markets, noted John Panzica, VP of Switch and Data's Financial Services Practice, in the release. "We are proud that an industry leader like Neuberger Berman has chosen our site and our staff to protect the more than $160 billion in assets that flow through its infrastructure," stated Panzica.
