Fixnetix to Provide Direct Data Feed From JSE

South Africa's leading exchange taps low-latency technology to distribute its data.

Fixnetix will provide a direct data feed from the target="_blank">JSE (Johannesburg Stock Exchange)— South Africa’s full service stock exchange and one of the world’s top 20 exchanges by market capitalization.

The new direct market data feed will utilize Fixnetix’s high bandwidth data provision and best-of-breed feed handler technology, according to today’s announcement. Customers will be provided low-latency multi-format data from the JSE as well as the full order book.

“There is increasing interest in the African market form both local and international investors, and we’re delighted that Fixnetix has added the JSE to its exchange offerings,” commented Ana Forssman, head of information products sales at the JSE in the release. The JSE is committed to sourcing the best available technologies to distribute its data, and that is why it’s collaborating with Fixnetix, a leading provider of end-to-end market data provision and trading access, added Forssman in the statement.

Fixnetix will offer an ultra-low latency connection into the JSE, to ensure that it provides firms with the fastest access to JSE data, according to Hugh Hughes, Fixnetix’s CEO who is quoted in the release. Hughes further stated, “…we look forward to introducing new clients and liquidity into the JSE, which we believe is one of the world’s most significant markets,” in the release.

JSE is the market of choice for international investors who seek to gain exposure to local capital markets in South Africa and the broader African continent, noted the release. Companies can raise capital in a regulated environment, through its markets: the Main Board, the Alternative Exchange (Alt-X), and soon the Africa Board.
