Code Red Rolls Out iPad App and Mobile Web App for PDAs

Buy-side subscribers to its RedAlerts research product can view, access and enter research on their investments and ideas from anywhere.

Research management system Code Red introduced a new iPad application and an improved web application called Red Alerts, enabling users to access research from anywhere.

The new iPad app and mobile web app are geared toward analysts and portfolio managers that are on the go and need to access or enter research while they are outside of the office.

“Analysts and portfolio managers travel frequently but still need the tools that they have back at the office. Users want a quick and easy way to view, access, and enter research on their investments and ideas at any time, “comments Tim Gavin, CEO of Boston-based Code Red. “Our mobile web and iPad applications for the Red Alerts RMS give them the information they need when they need it no matter where they are," continues Gavin in today’s press release. "Ever since the iPad was released, we received an overwhelming response from our users for a native Red Alerts iPad application. During our record-breaking growth year, we are excited to cap of 2010 with this highly-anticipated application."

With the native iPad app, users can view notes and research, and download attachments including PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Users can also update and enter new research, as well as comment on existing research, right from the iPad, according to the company’s press statement. All data entered into the iPad application is synchronized with the central Red Alerts RMS database.

Code Red offers two versions of its WebAlerts web application. The first is more detailed and can be used via any standard web browser. The second is a more light-weight version that was especially designed for use by PDAs such as the BlackBerry or iPhone. Red Alerts RMS users can securely access research data and notes while on the road. They can view notes and download attachments including PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint® files. Users can also update and enter new notes. Web Alerts is automatically synchronized with the Red Alerts RMS database for instant delivery of research and information.
