Brandywine Global Taps Eagle Investment Systems

Chooses Eagle Access, a hosted solution for data management, investment accounting and performance measurement, to replace existing installed vendor.

Brandywine Global Investment Management LLC will deploy Eagle Access, a hosted service for data management, investment accounting and performance measurement solutions, according to Eagle Investment Systems which issued a release today.

Brandywine is expanding the mandate of Eagle which it has deployed for data management since 2006. In 2010, after conducting a search for an investment accounting and performance measurement system, it selected Eagle’s hosted investment management suite to replace its existing installed applications, stated the release.

While the release did not identify the incumbent system it said the investment managers continue to struggle with managing new complex investments and are looking for solutions that can automate the process and provide future support.

“Eagle’s ability to manage complex securities and calculate sophisticated performance analysis were key factors for selecting Eagle,” commented Mark Glassman, chief administration officer at Brandywine Global with $32 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31, 2010. “Eagle’s model encompasses full services and support as well as continued commitment to innovation through its rigorous release schedule. Eagle Access will maintain the platform and provide additional assistance to help create operational efficiencies across our back office within a short deployment timeframe.”

“Brandywine Global required a strategic solution that could offer the technology and software to streamline the management of its global and alternative investments, with the ability to be implemented quickly and provide immediate cost benefits,” said John Lehner, president and chief executive officer of Eagle. “Eagle Access provides the complete solution, delivering the functionality, expertise and future support that Brandywine Global requires.”

According to John Lehner, president and CEO of Eagle, Brandywine Global “required a strategic solution that could offer the technology and software to streamline the management of its global and alternative investments.” The solution had to be implemented quickly and provide immediate cost benefits, said Lehner in the release.

Founded in 1986, Brandywine Global offers an array of fixed income, equity and balanced portfolios that invest in U.S. international and global markets.
