Phillips Named CEO of Chi-East

Ned Phillips has been appointed chief executive officer of Chi-East, the joint venture of Chi-X Global and Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX).

In a company statement, Gan Seow Ann, Chairman of Chi-East, said, “We are very pleased to welcome Ned on board to lead Chi-East. His wealth of experience will be invaluable as we establish the leading trading platform for Pan-Asian securities for our customers.”

Chi-East will develop and launch the first exchange backed non-displayed trading platform in Asia starting with select securities listed in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore.

Chi-Tech will provide the technology for the Chi-East trading platform, which will offer a new solution for block transactions and price improvement in the region.

Previously Phillips was CEO of BlocSec, a crossing network also based in Asia. He has also held positions at ETrade and Investment Technology Group (ITG) in Asia.
