Harborside+ promotes Cashel to president and CEO
Michael Cashel was appointed president and chief executive officer of Harborside+, the institutional block-trading service. Cashel, 42, has served as the company's chief operating officer since joining Harborside + in 2002. He replaces Robert Hall, who is relinquishing the roles of president and CEO to become chairman.
Hall, who came out of retirement three years ago to run Harborside+, indicated it was always his intention to step back from an operational role once the company achieved a solid growth trajectory, according to the release.
"The time is right to hand over the role of company president and CEO to Mike Cashel, an accomplished professional who has had a significant impact on the success of Harborside+," states Hall in the press release.
Prior to joining Harborside+, Cashel was senior managing director and head of equity sales, Americas, at ABN Amro. Before then, he was a principal at Morgan Stanley, where he headed emerging-markets sales-trading in New York, the non-Japan Asian-equity-sales-desk in New York and emerging- markets equity-sales in London.
