FactSet, FirstRain Partner to Offer Blended Research, News and Market Data

FactSet integrating FirstRain news gathering and filtering into FactSet Marquee to provide clients with research and qualitative analytics.

FirstRain, a provider of search-driven research for investment professionals, today announced the availability of FirstRain within FactSet Research Systems' real-time market data platform, FactSet Marquee.

"Prices react rapidly to new marketplace information, so it's important to have as much of that information as possible," said Clinton Anderson of Meritage Portfolio Management. "FirstRain consolidates hard-to-find data from the web on our portfolios, sectors, and industries. Integrating FirstRain with the analysis I do in FactSet provides a more complete picture of the market."

The partnership improves the research process by making it easy to incorporate findings from non-traditional sources such as blogs, industry publications, and local news, into idea generation and portfolio monitoring. All users of FactSet Marquee will gain access to web results from FirstRain, and clients of both firms will be able to utilize the full FirstRain platform from within an existing FactSet workflow.

"With more than 100 firms as our clients now, we have many clients in common with FactSet. As a result of this important relationship our shared clients will now have a seamless way to use web results and analytics in their research process within FactSet," added Penny Herscher, president and CEO of FirstRain. "We are delighted to partner with FactSet to enable their users to gain access to the FirstRain information edge integrated with Marquee."
