BSE Teams With Eurex To Launch Futures, Options Trading
The Bombay Stock Exchange said today that it’s partnering with with Eurex to launch futures and options on the BSE’s blue chip index Sensex.
The exchange operator added that the derivatives products will begin trading on the Eurex October 4. The 30 largest and most actively traded companies listed on the BSE are tracked daily on the Sensex Index.
“The Sensex is the most widely recognized gauge for the Indian market and complements our suit of leading equity index derivatives,” Peter Reitz, a member of Eurex’s executive board said in a statement. “By introducing futures and options on this prominent benchmark, we also will advance our efforts in the Asia-Pacific region by creating trading opportunities for customers seeking access to this fast-growing emerging economy.”
The BSE also said the new contracts will be denominated in U.S. dollars and settled in cash.
