TowerGroup Adds Senior Manager to Streamline Business

Maureen Hesney, formerly senior vice president of Gartner, has joined TowerGroup as senior vice president

Maureen Hesney, formerly senior vice president of Gartner, has joined TowerGroup as senior vice president to run its research and consulting practice. In her new role, she is charged with fueling growth and developing stronger synergies between the TowerGroup research and consulting teams.

TowerGroup is in the process of adding senior managers, analysts and consultants to enable it to execute on new business opportunities and grow the overall TowerGroup brand. Hesney will report to TowerGroup President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Sievewright.

"Looking for ways to grow the business will be the main thrust this year," Hesney says. "We want to transition TowerGroup into a growth company by looking for ways to add value to clients and increase the client base, as well by continuing to write thought-provoking pieces," she says.

While at Gartner, Hesney was responsible for growing the vendor portion of the consulting business and managed over 300 people worldwide. In two years, she grew its international business from a $15 million to a $50 million business. She grew the company through acquisitions, as well as organically by increasing services and adding experienced personnel.

"This is what we are looking to do here too, adding senior staff, and bring in a lot of experienced help and expertise," she says. She began her new role in early February.
