New & Improved: Broker Workstation Analyzes Clients' Needs
SunGard is rolling out PowerStation, an integrated, real-time broker work station. The system integrates a number of SunGard offerings from companies it has acquired, such as Plaid Brothers Software, SunGard EMS, Frontier Analytics and SunGard Expert Solutions (formerly Sterling Wentworth), says Jon S. Bluth, vice president, director of business development at Plaid Brothers. "It's a complete Web-based, integrated broker desktop."
The multi-faceted windows offering rolls up a number of solutions into one package. Brokers access each screen by tabs. Modules include portfolio management, account information, market data, online trading, financial planning and daily advisor and cross-selling program.
The relationship management program allows brokers to search client information recorded in the database, schedule meetings and record activities in a time-stamped note pad. There's also mail merge and e-mail merge functions, and info can be exported to Excel for report analysis.
TowerGroup analyst Dennis Ceru says that SunGard "did a lot of work creating it and integrating it (with existing offerings)."
The market data module includes advanced charting, while the cross-selling feature analyzes client bases each day to determine which clients have the highest need for a particular product or service. It also tracks broker-client contacts.
