Thomson Financial has acquired privately held TowersData and plans to integrate the TowersData technology directly into its Thomson Advisor Platform wealth- management solution. Thomson is looking to extend its market presence in the product sponsor area. Thomson will continue to distribute and support the TowersData product lines. Fred Towers, chairman of TowersData will join Thomson Financial's wealth-management team and Jim Hendren, president of TowersData, will head up strategy and development for the product sponsor market at Thomson Financial.

Neovest has entered into a distribution deal with Dow Jones Newswires to offer the Dow Jones News Service as an optional service on its professional trading software. Users will be able to use incorporate the news service into Neovest's real-time data analysis, decision support and securities-trading solutions. Users can also set up filters and alerts to customize the news feed.

Michael Danziger has joined the Fair Disclosure Financial Network, where he will work on strategic planning and business development for the company. Danziger was previously president of Thomson Financial's database group. FDfn transcribes, Web casts and distributes corporate earnings conference calls and is a subsidiary of MediaMap Inc.
