MARKET-DATA NEWSFLASHES
Cantor Market Data has formed an alliance with Tradition (North America) and Tradition (UK), subsidiaries of interest-rate-derivatives broker Compagnie Financiere Tradition. The agreement will yield a combined U.S. Cash and Swaps product, available through Cantor Market Data. The product offers real-time data for the cash and swaps markets by combining Cantor Market Data's market-standard prices for benchmark U.S. Treasuries with U.S. dollar interest-rate swap prices sourced from Tradition's interest-rate-swaps markets. The product, which is available now on Reuters, Cantor Direct and CantorData.com, provides Tradition swap rates during U.S. hours, but plans to expand coverage to European hours during the first quarter of next year. The product will eventually also be available through Bloomberg, Thomson Financial and CQG. In addition, Reuters is offering the product to all of its customers on a global free trial for a brief time.
Reuters Market Data System will now be supported by IBM's eServer xSeries and eServer BladeCenter systems on Linux. Support of IBM's eServer will allow Reuters' customers to upgrade their current market-data applications to RMDS on Linux. According to a release, users of RMDS were requesting that Reuters offer the solution on IBM's BladeCenter hardware.
National Financial, a Boston-based Fidelity Investments company, is now offering Reuters Plus. National Financial, which offers broker/dealers clearing and execution products, will offer the market-data platform to its corresponding broker/dealer clients. Reuters Plus is a combination of current, historical and key-fundamental data.
