Credit Suisse Hires Head of Equity in Japan

Takeshi Hasebe has been named as Credit Suisse’s head of equity capital markets in Japan. Hasebe has over 18 years experience in Japan’s capital markets and will lead the origination and execution of Credit Suisse’s primary equity business. He will also be charged with further enhancing and developing equity financing products, including block placements, convertible bonds and warrants, secondaries and IPOs, according to a company release.

Hasebe joins Credit Suisse from Merrill Lynch where he was most recently Head of Equity Capital Solutions Group in Japan. He began his career at Merrill in 1991, after graduating from Keio University with a degree in Economics. He moved to Deutsche Bank in 1996 to serve a number of senior capital markets positions and rejoined Merrill in 2004.
