TRADE ORDER MANAGEMENTCharles River Development is planning to incorporate New York-based TechHackers' bond and mortgage-backed securities (MBS) analytics into its trading and order management system. TechHacker's Bond and MBS QuantTools Libraries will be embedded in the trading system, providing enhanced pricing and risk analytics. Because of the growth in the variety and complexity of fixed-income instruments, Charles River was looking for a solution that could cover all types of domestic and foreign debt instruments.FUND SERVICESVillanova Capital, the mutual fund division of Nationwide Financial, has signed a letter of intent with BISYS Fund Services to transfer its in-house fund administration, accounting, transfer agency and shareholder services to BISYS by early next year. The agreement affects 145 Columbus-based Nationwide Financial employees who are currently responsible for these mutual fund operations. These employees will have the opportunity to become employees of BISYS. The agreement, which is expected to be effective September 1, is subject to approval by the trustees of Nationwide Financial's mutual funds and is part of the firm's effort to integrate its mutual fund operations, Nationwide Advisory Services, into Villanova Capital. Nationwide Financial has committed to grow the Villanova from $20 billion in assets to $50 billion by the end of the year. WEB SERVICESStrong Funds has developed a new Small Plan section of its Web site, Strong On-line (www.strongfunds.com) to assist small business owners. The site provides information on 403(b), SIMPLE-IRA, SEP-IRA, profit sharing, money purchase pension and Paired Keogh plans. Users of the site will find a detailed description of each plan, including key benefits, answers to commonly asked questions and an explanation of who can establish each plan type. Small business owners have access to a table that provides a comparison of each plan type across a number of characteristics. One key feature of the Small Plan section, is an interactive financial calculator that helps business owners define their objectives for offering a plan, such as providing a vehicle for employees to save for their own retirement, or as a way to share company profits.ORDER MANAGEMENTSumitomo Electric Industries Japan has announced the formation of TCAM Japan, a software subsidiary that will market and distribute TCAM Systems' applications in Japan. Existing TCAM applications will be translated from English into kanji, the Japanese character set, for the Japanese market. Sumitomo Electric expects TCAM Japan to grow to 50 employees by the end of the year and will begin the product rollout with the Advanced Order Management (AOM), TCAM's web-enabled order management, compliance and order routing system. The AOM will be enhanced with a standardized API to enable clients to access the system via the Internet.
