Barclays Global Investors has appointed Paul Stevens as the new head of the firm'sglobal technology enterprise.
Stevens' responsibilities at Barclays will includeglobal technology applications and infrastructure, strategic technology projectand Internet initiatives. Stevens was previously head of systems at JP MorganAsset Management Services in New York and held several technology positions at theLondon office. Barclays, a global investment management firm handles more than$680 billion in assets.
Advent Software has enhanced its Advent Office investment management suite for astraight-through processing, Internet-based environment. It has added pre-tradegains and loss information and tax lot selection into its trade order managementsystem, Moxy. The client management module, Qube, will be integrated withMicrosoft Outlook for more efficient e-mail communication and scheduling. Userswill also be able to access information about clients via the Web and AdventPartner, for partnership accounting, will allow net asset value calculations.
Sybase says it will provide customers with connectivity to the Global StraightThrough Processing Association's Transaction Flow Manager (TFM) through aParticipant Access Module. The TFM allows investment managers, broker/dealers andglobal custodians to access information flow related to each trade through theAccess Module which is based on Sybase's Financial Server middleware platform forbanking and trading.
