LiquidPoint Sees 42.4% Growth in Options Contracts

BNY ConvergEx, a provider of global agency brokerage and investment technology solutions, today announced that LiquidPoint, an agency-based broker-dealer that specializes in derivatives and a member of BNY ConvergEx Group, routed and/or executed a near-record 83.2 million options contracts in the month of March 2009. This is LiquidPoint's second highest volume ever recorded in one month.

LiquidPoint's March volume represents an increase of 42.4% compared to the March 2008 volume. Overall volume of the U.S. options industry increased approximately 22.7% over the same period, according to transaction volume data obtained from the Options Clearing Corporation.
