Caplin Systems announces that UBS Warburg selects RTTP to deliver real-time data over the Web to employees and buy-side trading partners; GIS announces that it creates FundShare; Financial Models Company Inc. wins "Best Use of Technology" award at 7th Annual Canadian Mutual Fund Awards.

Caplin Systems, creator of the Real Time Text Protocol (RTTP), announced that UBS Warburg, a global financial-services firm, has selected RTTP to deliver real-time data over the Web to its employees and buy-side trading partners. RTTP delivers market data at levels of performance demanded by professionals. Users can integrate the data into their current systems as it streams through unmodified firewalls directly into a standard browser. Caplin's technology eliminates the need for expensive third-party distribution systems and achieves better control over communicating market data to end users.

Global Investment Systems (GIS), an investment-industry software company, announced that it has created FundShare, a customized and exclusive version of its MSHARE system for Nations Funds. FundShare will be used for the private-label distribution of the Nations Funds family money-market funds. MSHARE is GIS' transfer agency and shareholder record-keeping system for both retail and institutional funds. As an omnibus sub-accounting transfer agency system, FundShare will be distributed to, and used solely by banking institutions that distribute Nations Funds. As with users of MSHARE, GIS will provide all support and maintenance required by Nations Funds.

At least we can admire the nice weather and some of the best quotes of the week.
