Advent Releases New Versions of APX and Moxy

The software developer also releases upgrades to Advent Rules Manager, Advent Revenue Center and Tradex.

Advent Software, the developer of portfolio accounting software for investment management firms, has released new versions of portfolio management software Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX) and trade order management system Moxy, along with upgrades of Advent Rules Manager, Advent Revenue Center and Tradex.

Some new features include upgraded experience with new data management tools and simpler reporting processes in APX. Moxy has customization options to help manage drift and rebalancing. Advent Rules Manager includes filters to place restrictions on subsets of a model portfolio, or index, to reduce operational burdens and trading risk. Advent Revenue Center has rule linking and reporting improvements for billing.

According to the Chief Compliance Officer at Disciplined Growth Investors, Peter Rieke, the upgraded software is much more efficient.

"We're seeing more numerous and complex restrictions on what we can buy and hold in institutional portfolios," said Rieke, in the release. "Advent Rules Manager gives us a way to effectively manage these restrictions and naturally integrate them into out trading workflow."

"We strive to be the best at what our clients expect from us by continuously enhancing the solutions out clients rely on so they can leverage these tools to grow their business," said Chris Momsen, EVP of Sales and Solutions Management at Advent.

According to the Director of Marketing at Allegro Finans ASA, Nicolai Haugan, the improvements make is important to her company's development. "For APX and Moxy, we have found that the upgrade process, support experience and user experience are all improved when the solution we have is the latest version," said Haugan. "Advent is a key partner in the development of our business. It's at the heart of everything we do and, as a general rule, we stay updated on the software."

Advent, founded in 1983, has 4,500 client firms in over 60 countries.

It wasn't all bad luck for the capital markets this week: Hedge funds had a decent first quarter despite a slowdown in jobs numbers, BlackRock might be heading into new territory as hedge fund managers take a hard look at their counterparties, and the head of the IMF didn't pull any punches when assessing today's global economy. At least we can admire the nice weather and some of the best quotes of the week.
